Shoe-pamperer

The bichonneur (shoe-pamperer, a role specific to the shoemaking trade) is the last person involved in the shoe-making process. They remove the last onto which the shoe was mounted, craft the thin inner sole that will support the foot, and ultimately refresh, clean, wax, and burnish the shoe to ensure no thread or piece of lining protrudes.
